ModMusCon2016 is the Modern Music Convention happening at Dickson Middle School in Dickson, Tennessee on Tuesday, September 27, 2016. It is being organized by Chuck Elston, DMS music teacher, with a lot of help from fellow teachers, administrators, and local businesspeople.

 

About the Convention, students from 6th through 12th grade can sign up for a 1-hour session with any of the four professional musical artists including Remote Kontrol, Aries Deng, FYC Militia, and

18th & Addison. Sessions begin promptly at 4:30 PM in designated classrooms at

Dickson Middle School. Then, all participants will have the chance to hang out with the musical artists and each other while enjoying all-you-can-eat sandwiches, chips, fruit, and homemade ice cream from

Zander's Wood Fired Pizza. Then, the artists will perform in a showcase concert unlike anything you've seen before.

To attend just the open-to-the-public concert without the workshop/dinner, tickets are $5 at the door. Door opens at 6:30. When you arrive at Dickson Middle School (DMS), follow the signs to the DMS Auditorium. The general public is invited. A map to DMS is here.

ModMusCon2016 is the premier opportunity for students grades 6 through 12 to learn about modern music and dance directly from professionals in the genres that are hot right now.  Interested in Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and DJing? Aries Deng is lighting up Los Angeles with her beautiful and electrifying tracks such as "Retrograde" and "April." Want to rap or produce hip hop beats? FYC Militia is on point with real, relevent, and hard-hitting hip hop. Wanna rock? 18th & Addison delivers a fresh take on punk a la The Clash and Green Day.  Wanna dance? Remote Kontrol are masters of the dance genre known as "Animation" and have been seen throughout the world on "So You Think You Can Dance."
